If you haven’t noticed, the Nisei Ski Club is building a stronger presence on the internet. First, we now have a Twitter account for updating people about club news, Tahoe news, and news about the ski and snowboard world in general. We already have 1310 followers!
Next, we have a brand new Facebook page which will be used not only for the latest updates but also to interact with each other more easily. With the Facebook page we can do the following:
- Post messages to the wall for other NSC fans to read
- Share photos from recent trips
- Start discussions on various club or skiing or snowboarding topics
- Organize carpools to the Sierras for the weekends NSC is not having a trip
The most important thing about the Facebook page is that whenever you interact with it, your friends will also see what NSC is doing even if they are not a fan of NSC yet. This is where viral awareness of the Nisei Ski Club can help us gain more members. The more you interact with the NSC Facebook page the more likely the page will gain more fans and the more likely we will find new members to join us on our trips, and they’ll even be your friends. You can also suggest that some or all of your friends on Facebook become a fan of NSC too.
Finally, we’ve launched a new version of the website that is more modern and easier to maintain. The upgrade of the website is a continuous effort but with the new software we are using it will make life much easier. One new benefit of the new website is that we will now have an RSS feed of all our events and articles.
